T' was the night of our
Christmas party, and all
through the hall, the guests
were arriving for the
yuletide ball;
The decorations were hung
and the food was prepared,
cocktails were flowing it
seemed nothing was spared.
The time for dancing was now
just right;
but the entertainment hired
was nowhere in sight.
When what to our wandering
eyes should appear,
a man carrying speakers,
cables and beer.
With a look of confusion
shown over his face,
he moved to the stage to set
up his space.
Two hours had passed before
he plugged in,
and the patience of the
crowd was wearing thin.
He spoke not a word and went
right to his work,
and the guests began yelling
"This guy is a jerk."
His style and sound was far
from professional,
and the music he played was
barely digestible.
The tempo diminished to a
monotonous bore,
and the guests left for home
they could stand no more.
But were heard to exclaim as
they drove out of sight,
"If we had hired
Ray Mar Productions,
we would have partied all
night." |
